Complete guide to using Netbuy Cookie Consent Pro

๐Ÿš€ Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Installation

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file from your purchase email
  2. Go to WordPress Admin โ†’ Plugins โ†’ Add New
  3. Click “Upload Plugin”
  4. Choose the ZIP file and click “Install Now”
  5. Click “Activate Plugin”

Step 2: License Activation

  1. Go to Cookie Consent โ†’ License
  2. Enter your license key (from purchase email)
  3. Enter your email address (used during purchase)
  4. Click “Activate License”
  5. You’ll see a success message

Step 3: Basic Configuration

  1. Go to Cookie Consent โ†’ Settings
  2. Choose your banner style (Classic, Floating, Top Bar, Sidebar, or Modal)
  3. Customize colors to match your brand
  4. Add your logo (optional)
  5. Customize text messages (optional)
  6. Click “Save Settings”

Banner Styles

Classic Bottom Bar
Traditional full-width banner at the bottom of the page. Best for: Most websites.

Floating Card
Modern corner card (bottom-right or bottom-left). Best for: Modern, minimal designs.

Top Bar
Full-width banner at the top. Best for: Sites that want to avoid footer overlap.

Sidebar
Elegant side panel (left or right). Best for: Unique, creative layouts.

Modal Overlay

Cookie Categories

Essential Cookies
Required for website functionality. Always active, cannot be disabled.

Google Consent Mode v2

Google Consent Mode v2 is required for Google Ads in EU/UK since March 2024.

  • Enable in Settings โ†’ Google Consent Mode v2
  • Works automatically with Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads
  • Maintains conversion tracking with limited consent
  • No additional configuration needed

Cookie Scanner

The cookie scanner automatically detects tracking cookies on your website:

  1. Go to Cookie Consent โ†’ Scanner
  2. Click “Scan Homepage”
  3. Wait for scan to complete (10-20 seconds)
  4. Review detected cookies
  5. Known cookies are auto-categorized
  6. Manually categorize unknown cookies

Analytics Dashboard

Track consent rates without collecting personal data:

  • No IP tracking – Privacy-first design
  • Aggregated data – Daily consent statistics
  • Language insights – See consent by visitor language
  • Category breakdown – Which categories users accept most
  • Trends – Daily consent trends over time

  1. Install and activate WPML
  2. Go to WPML โ†’ String Translation
  3. Search for “netbuy-cookie-consent-pro”

  5. Banner automatically shows in correct language

If you use Polylang:

  1. Install and activate Polylang
  2. Go to Languages โ†’ String Translations
  3. Search for “netbuy-cookie-consent-pro”

Script Injection

Add tracking codes that run ONLY when users accept:

Analytics JavaScript Code
Paste your Google Analytics code here. It will ONLY run if users accept Analytics cookies.

Marketing JavaScript Code
Paste your Facebook Pixel or Google Ads code here. It will ONLY run if users accept Marketing cookies.

Note: This is optional. The plugin automatically blocks most tracking scripts even if hardcoded in your theme.

Data Retention

Control how long consent analytics are stored:

  • 90 days – Short-term tracking
  • 6 months – Medium-term
  • 1 year (recommended) – Long-term trends
  • Forever – Keep all data

Old data is automatically deleted according to your setting.

๐Ÿ†˜ Troubleshooting

Banner Doesn’t Appear

  • Check if you already accepted cookies (clear browser cookies)
  • Make sure plugin is activated
  • Check for JavaScript errors in browser console (F12)
  • Try disabling other plugins temporarily

License Activation Fails

  • Check license key for typos
  • Make sure email matches purchase email
  • Check if license is already used on max domains
  • Contact support if issue persists

Tracking Scripts Still Running

  • Clear browser cookies and test in incognito mode
  • Make sure you clicked “Reject All” or didn’t accept that category
  • Check Cookie Consent โ†’ Scanner to see all detected scripts
  • Some scripts may be from third-party plugins – check their settings
